smartweb.jpgHey, so this is cool. Lifehacker just wrote about a free download called HP Smart Web Printing that lets you combine multiple Web items onto one page. It saves you from having to print out tons of extraneous information (and wasting paper).

It’s Windows-only, but it works with any printer and plays nice with both Internet Explorer and Firefox. You can clip text, graphics, images, or any part of a Web page with the click of a button.

You can then edit your virtual clip books and print out exactly what you see on the screen. It’s much more elegant than trying to copy and paste disparate items into a Microsoft Word document. Plus, it’s an easy way to get greener by reducing wasted paper.

It’s not new (Walt Mossberg’s column in All Things Digital featured the current version back in September), but it’s new to me and I love it. Try it — maybe you’ll love it too.
