Having trouble dividing the workload with your fellow team members? Do squabbles over workflow drive your manager crazy? You might want to think twice about twice about airing your disputes to management, because as Honda tells us, robots are becoming quite adept at working as a team.
Honda says that it’s ASIMO robot now has the capability to pick up a task where another robot has left off, negotiating the substitution over a wireless network. This could prove useful when a robot have steps away for a badly needed break. That’s right, they’re also able to determine when they are running low on power and automatically head to the charging station.
Human teams need be on their best behavior, because word is that the robots are also quite polite and deferential — they are programmed to stop in their tracks and back up to make way for humans headed in their direction.
