An undergraduate degree from Harvard can run you well into the six figures, and an MBA not much less, but the enterprising team leader can get the equivalent of an ice cream tasting spoon from the November 2007 edition of the Harvard Management Update.

We opened our email a few days back to find that the online package of management wisdom for this month is completely geared toward effective team management. Four articles tackle topics like how to create a culture of competition, how to effectively challenge your team, how to coach your team to improved performance, and how to up the shared accountability quotient through a simple morning meeting.

You do have to put up $4.50 for each article, but for that price you get an Ivy League team management primer from big names like Lynda Gratton. And you don’t even have to move to stuffy old Cambridge.
