A picture is worth a thousand words. So how many words is a video worth?

If you are looking for a new, creative way to get your point across, consider telling a story using Xtranormal, a “freemium” service that lets you easily produce short online cartoon clips through your web browser.

Their intuitive interface allows you to create on or two avatars and bring them to life by typing up a short conversation.  There are a bunch of characters, accents and locations to choose from, so you can have a little fun with it.  After you’ve tweaked the script and are satisfied with your clip, you can publish it on a variety of platforms like YouTube or Facebook.

There were a few server snags when I registered and played around with the site’s tools. But it’s quite obvious that out-of-the-box video content creators like this one have a ton of potential.  I can see how the service could be used to introduce a new product line to clients or help explain a procedure to employees.

Of course, there is always the possibility of an inter-office joke going viral. So be careful with this powerful new tool!
