Planes, Trains, and Carbon Offsets

As more eco-conscious travelers use third parties to purchase carbon offsets for their air travel, airlines are incorporating the offsets into their online reservation process. Air Canada and Continental are two of the latest airlines to offer the service, and the business-class only Silverjet is completely carbon-neutral.

But budget-travel guru Arthur Frommer has another suggestion: take the train. Trains produces roughly two-thirds less carbon than airplanes. An added bonus for the business traveler? Bar-car networking.
