When it comes to online behavior, we are what we search. That’s according to online intelligence expert Bill Tancer, author of “Click: What Millions of People Are Doing Online and Why It Matters.” In this podcast, Tancer explains how he monitored data from Google, Yahoo and other search engines and analyzed what Web sites people visit and what search terms they use. From people’s fears to traffic patterns on adult Web sites, he discovered that how people behave online is often very different from how they behave offline, and that this data can provide a wealth of market research for businesses.
