After lurking on the site as one of the new product managers for BNET, I wanted to use my first post to let you know about a new site feature that will be debuting shortly.

Preview of BNET New Comments

  • Our comments will soon be displayed in a flattened format, so you can read everyone’s input without having to click “Next” or “Previous” as you do today. (Moderator’s comments will be identified by green shading.)
  • The name of our commenting area will change to “Talkback” to make it more consistent with that of our sister brands, ZDNet and TechRepublic.
  • Your username will be more prominently displayed when you comment. (If you didn’t select a username, the display name has always defaulted to the first part of your email address, before the [at] symbol. You can change that by logging in, going to My BNET, and clicking the Edit My Account button in the toolbar.)

Editing Your Username on My BNET

We did this to give you easier access to the discussions going around our community, by allowing you to more quickly skim the various contributions.

What do you think? If you like it, please give this post a thumbs up (you don’t have to register to vote). If you liked it the old way, your input is valuable, too. Please send us a note to bnetfeedback (at) cnet (dot) com.

In the near future, you’ll hear more from the product managers at BNET, as we keep you updated of new things that debut on the site, and get your feedback on things we’re considering for the future.
