    Top Viral Videos

Viewings are Vanity ? Sales are sanity

Are we measuring the right thing ? the number of viewings may in fact be totally irrelevant the important feedback is more likely to be
    1. Who is viewing the videos in terms of target audience? A load of 14 year olds viewing a video about mortgages would be a total waste of time (for at least another 10 years)?
    2. Why are they viewing it? ? just because it?s funny or they like the music is not a good reason
    3. Does it help brand recall?? I was involved in a typical conversation at a football game last weekend where two people were discussing a really funny beer advert on television when I asked which brand they had no idea at all
    4. Can we measure whether the video has produced any sales? ? there will obviously be instance where it has but how effective is it in producing incremental business .
    5. Can we measure effectiveness in producing additional business across the market segments and demographic profiles?
    6. Meaningful statistics ? for a company selling for example in the UK the fact that 90% of the viewings are in the USA might be irrelevant.
