pimp-santa.jpgIf you haven’t yet heard about Microsoft’s naughty artificial intelligence Santa-bot, you’re missing out. Think about the topics you’d never imagine Santa discussing — yes, get your mind in the gutter. Santa Claus came to town, and not just his boot soles were dirty. Perhaps he should have taken SmarterChild upon his lap to educate him on the rules of polite conversation.

Microsoft addressed Santa’s inappropriate language:

“Yesterday we received reports that the automated Santa Claus agent in Windows Live Messenger used inappropriate language. As soon as we were alerted, we took steps to mitigate the issue, including the removal of language from the agent’s automated script. We were not completely satisfied with the results of these actions, and have decided to discontinue the automated Santa Claus agent.”

People are pretty sensitive about what Saint Nick says these days; some don’t even want him to say, “ho ho ho” because it’s offensive to women.

How did Microsoft not see this coming?
