A Counterintuitive Way to Increase Your Churn Rate

cable-out.jpgComcast has a lot of enemies these days, many who will go to extreme measures to express their dissatisfaction (let us not forget the tale of the little old lady who took a hammer to her local office.) Their most abhorrent offense of late: continuing to form exclusivity agreements with apartment complexes despite the FCC’s ban. Phil Shapiro, a Greenbelt, Maryland resident, is so upset over his lack of options that he’s planning to move from his otherwise pleasant home just to escape the clutches of Comcast. Shapiro wrote:

“I love my current apartment and would much rather not move. The letter forcing me to switch to Comcast is tantamount to an eviction notice.

The managers of this apartment complex are otherwise excellent. I have no complaints against them. That they would treat me so poorly as to switch me to Comcast, though. For shame.”

While the FCC hoped the ban would spur competition and drive down prices, Comcast predicted it would have the exact opposite effect.

If Comcast is threatened by competition, perhaps the company should focus on improving its service and listening to customers (not just pretending to) so they might actually want Comcast — without being strong-armed into it.

    Comcast Service

    Comcast has the most incompetent customer service reps and they are so slow to fix problems. They really suck!!!!!!!!!! I hate that the options are so limited in certain areas that you are forced to use them especislly for broadband internet. Someone needs to step in. Comcast is out of control.
