Beer Can Be Good for YouMaybe you’ll spend this weekend raking up the leaves in your front lawn. Maybe you’ll hit the gym, chase around your toddler, or play a game of pick-up basketball with your friends. Whatever physical activity you do to work up a sweat, you may also feel the desire for a nice cold beer afterwards. Fight the urge no longer! We are happy today to bring you the the long hoped for news that an after work-out beer may actually be good for you.

Britain’s Telegraph newspaper is reporting today that:

A beer after playing a game of football, a long run, or a strenuous round of golf can be good for the body, scientists say. In a rare piece of good news for those who like a pint, Spanish researchers say beer can help someone who is dehydrated retain liquid better than water.

Of course, don’t go overboard. Too much alcohol in any form has a diuretic effect causing the body to lose liquids. But next time you sorely desire a cold one after a work-out, feel a little freer to indulge.
