You may want to hand out those bonus checks to your employees a little early this year.

An interesting study out of Cornell found that a 1 percent raise boosts job performance by 2 percent. But the study also found that if you give your employees the same amount of money in the form of a bonus, their job performance jumps up an amazing 20 percent.

A word of caution before you start cutting bonus checks though–the study only examined one company with 700 employees.

It definitely makes the employees feel appreciated and rewarded for their hard work, not to mention it instills a sense that company cares for them.
