  Its the right of the list owners to charge as
  they wish. Its the right of the list users to
  use or reject the use of the list as they wish.
  If people are getting benefit and the list
  owners decide they should get a portion of this benefit, who has the right to tell them
  otherwise?

  More than having to pay a fee, it will create a trail for the Feds to track down the service providers. I suspect erotic ads will drop off as a result.

  I think cl has every right to implement anything they want. Craigslist is still great site.... but if you want the sites that gives you pretty much the same usability of cl ,and free erotic ad postings, then here is they are . www.dontlookanyfurther.com (national) www.sfbaylist.com (san fran bay area) and www.ielistings.com (inland empire) . They are all free and get a good amount of traffic.
