Watch out, PowerPoint: Spresent lets you whip together spiffy Flash-based presentations from the free and comfy confines of your Web browser.

The service provides a robust set of presentation-building tools, all of them wrapped in an attractive, familiar-looking interface. You can choose from a wide selection of backgrounds for your slides (some of them animated), adjust object transparency, add MP3 audio, and even pick the kind of presentation-control buttons you want. Spresent lets you build presentations from scratch or import them from PowerPoint, though for the moment you can’t export: Presentations can be saved only to your online account in Spresent’s proprietary format.

However, you can print, e-mail, and embed them. So, how does Spresent compare with Google Presentations? Feature-wise, it blows it out of the water, though it definitely has a steeper learning curve. [via Alfred's Tech Blog]
