Should You Get Wireless Peripherals?

wirelesskeyboard.jpgI just got a new Logitech wireless keyboard and cordless optical mouse. I was tired of all of the cords behind my desk and tired of not being able to move them more than a foot either way. The new gear was not too expensive, and it seems to work well.

My new keyboard is easy to clean (simply take it to the sink, turn it over and thump it) and my new mouse is far less prone to glitches due to collecting dust (though that’s more due to the fact that it no longer has a ball). I can lean back in my chair after lunch and surf from a reclining position (using my pant leg as a mouse pad), and when I get really bored I can walk away from my desk with my peripherals and try to see how far away I can get before they stop working. (My current record for my mouse is two walls and twenty feet.)

Are wireless peripherals better ergonomically (as some on Digg have claimed)? That depends. It’s certainly easier to adjust these, but if you don’t know where they should be, it doesn’t really matter how they communicate with the computer. And I’ve already dropped my mouse fully onto the floor, something that never happened back when it had a life line attached to it.

So what do you think? Is it worth a little cash to go wireless with your mouse and keyboard? Let me know in the comments.

    Should we go wireless?

Definitely! Wireless, touch screen these are all words of the future that we should embrace like a long lost love.

RE: Should You Get Wireless Peripherals?

The compact design of the [url=http://www.ergonomicsmadeeasy.com/store/category/mini-keyboards/[/url] is one of its key features. Because of its small size it can be taken anywhere and used with any computer that has a USB port.
