Clear Space on an Overcrowded Hard Drive

treesized.jpgIf your notebook is more than a year or two old, chances are good it has a smallish hard drive — one that’s probably getting pretty full right about now. Sure, you could upgrade to a larger hard drive, but that involves time and money. A better solution (one that involves only time) is simply to clear out some of the old junk you no longer need. Rather than rooting around for hours and deleting a bunch of tiny files that won’t even make a dent, just find and toss a handful of big files. Productivity501 author Mark Shead explains how to do this using a pair of freebie utilities: one for Windows, the other for Macs. In a matter of minutes, you can clear enough space to keep the workflow flowing a little longer.
