vyew.jpgOnline collaboration can be a lifesaver when you need to work with folks in different offices, different cities, or even different countries. It’s a way to chat, share a whiteboard, and even work in real-time on various documents. Enter Vyew, which lets you do all that and more. The service supports Word, Excel, and other common file types, and allows you to create and author PowerPoint-style presentations. You can also take snapshots of your desktop or stream from it in real time. Document collaboration can happen simultaneously or asynchronously (meaning changes are made over time).

All this happens in the comfy confines of your browser; there’s no software to install. The free, ad-supported version of Vyew allows you to invite up to 20 participants; paid packages start at $9.95 per month, with discounts available if you prepay annually. If you can find a better online-collaboration tool than this — well, let us know about it! I think this one’s pretty killer.
