gmail-logo.jpgBusinesses are flocking to Gmail in droves, and with good reason: It’s arguably the best Web-based mail service on the planet. If you’re one of the cool kids (i.e., a Gmail user), check out Lifehacker’s list of the top 10 Gmail applications and add-ons. Many of them require Firefox (which certainly isn’t a bad thing — it’s my browser of choice), but all of them are free and undeniably useful. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite, but I’m definitely a fan of #7:

The Gmail Manager Firefox extension not only logs you into multiple Gmail accounts at once, butĀ also offers you easy access to unread e-mail information right in your Firefox status bar (no open tabs required!)

    Is this a joke?

Gmail is not a business e-mail solution. Any business that uses a free web based e-mail solution as a corporate solution needs to seriously re-evaluate their IT plan. Domain name registration is less than $10 per year and MS Exchange hosting is about $5 / per user / per month. I know $70 / per year can really hurt a company?s bottom line, but can we step up to the plate on this one and all agree that the professional presentation of a branded corporate e-mail solution with your very own domain name is worth the investment!!!! When I see companies that use Yahoo or Gmail for corporate communication I think one of two things:

1)This company is really too cheap to register a domain name and find a professional e-mail host.

2)This company really does not believe that IT is an important part of their business operations and will be sank by their competition within a year.

    No!

Gmail allows you to use your own domain and then some!
