There are few things quite as satisfying as removing the clutter from your desk. It’s a great way to procrastinate from doing actual work; it results in immediate gratification; and, occasionally—among the leftover takeout containers—you’ll find an important paper that you thought was already relegated to the waste bin of history.

The projects range from the not-particularly-complicated (organize your networking gear into plastic letter trays) to the slightly-more-complicated (mount your power strip to the underside of your desk) to the nice-but-not-not-bloody-likely (attach all of your external drives, networking gear, etc to a pegboard under your desk).

And the best part is that you can always re-mess up your desk and then get the satisfaction of organizing it once more.
