clock.jpgMy whole life is deadlines. And you know what? I love ‘em. Nothing gets the juices flowing like the knowledge that I’ve got two hours left to finish a 2,000-word feature or my editor will go ballistic. In fact, I often do my best work when the clock is ticking.

Blogger Scott H Young says there’s a right way and a wrong way to leverage deadlines, which he calls “a budget for your time.” An example of the wrong way is believing a deadline will somehow make you more creative; the right way is to keep you focused on your objective while keeping distractions at bay.
