Remember Dial2Do, the voice-powered messaging service that arrived just in time to fill Jott’s new subscription-driven shoes? It just rolled out some new features, making it an even more compelling alternative. Among the highlights:

  • Say “listen to e-mail” and Dial2Do will read messages from your AOL, Gmail, Yahoo, or POP3/IMAP account.
  • You can also listen to calendar entries, Twitter messages, blog posts, and more.
  • You can post messages directly to a Blogger, Tumblr, or WordPress blog.
  • You can listen to posts from popular news sites and blogs, including The New York Times and TechCrunch.
  • Make your own commands to play RSS content,  record and e-mail a message, or record something to post to a URL.

Alas, no support (yet) for LinkedIn or Facebook — it would be cool to be able to update your “status” on those services with just a phone call. Even so, Dial2Do has a lot more going for it than when we first checked it out just a couple months ago. And thankfully, it’s still free.

Got a tech dilemma? We're here to help.
