everything.jpgRegular Business Hacks readers know of our love for Copernic Desktop Search, which indexes stuff like documents, e-mail, and media for super-speedy searches. But it’s overkill for some users, and definitely something of a drag on system resources. If you just want lightning-fast search for files and folders, try Everything.

This tiny program takes the place of Windows’ regular search and offers real-time, dynamic results. Note that it doesn’t search the contents of files like Copernic, just files and folders. But, man, is it fast. It’s also free, and compatible with all versions of Windows (though it does require an NTFS file system, which is pretty standard). Highly, highly recommended.
