I love a good DIY iPhone/iPod touch stand, like the business-card stand and the MiniDV tape-case stand. But I have to say, I think this paper-clip stand trumps them all.

All you need is an ordinary jumbo paper clip and some amateur bending skills. No skills? The inventor offers a template [PDF] that shows you exactly where to bend the clip. And, of course, the above video gives you the finer points of the operation, which looks like it takes all of 60 seconds.

Obviously this would work for just about any phone or video player. And you can’t beat the price. Next time I take a road trip, I’ll have to decide whether to bring a business card or a paper clip. Which would you choose, and why? [via Lifehacker]
