Or if you don’t use one yet, get one now. Really Simple Syndication is a really simple way to manage the articles, blog posts, and web searches that you want to keep up with—without actually having to take the time to go to each site. Web-based Bloglines has treated me very well, as my crotchety Dell didn’t like it when I tried to use a downloaded app to manage my feeds. (Plus, Bloglines has a mobile version that makes my train rides much more interesting.)

But I know plenty of folks who like to be able to browse their feeds offline, which means Bloglines ain’t for them. Plus, several dozen new readers have shown up recently, some of which have cool features—like modifiable notifiers and Outlook capabilities—that Bloglines lacks. So try out a few—Mashable has a great round up of what’s available—and pick one that works for you.

    Google Reader!

About six months ago I switched to Google Reader and never looked back. It's not the prettiest RSS reader, but I'd be lost without it.

    Outlook 2007

I haven't used the latest version of MS Outlook. The idea of having email, calendar events, and contacts in one place along with feeds seems like things are on the right track.

    Try illumio

    Hi David,
Have you tried using illumio - www.illumio.com? There's definitely a hierarchy when it comes to feed readers and I prefer illumio - and not just because I work for the company.

If you're like me, you probably subscribe to a lot of feeds - with some feeds updating their content several times a day. I was drowning in articles and had no way to find the relevant information until I started using illumio. illumio automatically filters your feeds to find the most interesting articles. Subscribe to as many feeds as you like and illumio will monitor them and alert you to ONLY the articles that match your interests ? even when your interests change.

Try it and let me know what you think.
