BlackBerry users can quickly look up businesses and get directions using Poynt, a free service that’s currently in beta. Optimized for GPS-enabled BlackBerry models (but compatible with other models as well), Poynt aims to simplify business-listing lookups. Here’s the feature rundown:

  • Set your location by GPS, IP detection, or manually to receive accurate results based on where you are.
  • Call or map business listings with the click of a button.
  • Get directions from anywhere, to anywhere in North America .
  • See results listed by distance from your location.

You can even use Poynt to search for movies near you and buy tickets. See the applet in action in the above video. If you’re able to give it a try on your BlackBerry, hit the Comments and let us know how it went!
