If you’ve been waiting on an invitation for Evernote, which spent months as a private beta, wait no more: The information-management service is now officially a public beta. Here’s the official scoop:

Evernote, a Web service with full-featured desktop and mobile clients designed to allow users to easily capture and find information, memories, and content in any environment, today announced its public availability and a new subscription model. Access to Evernote is now available to everyone, without the need for a prior invitation, on the Web, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and other mobile devices.

Subscription model? Don’t worry, there’s still a free account option: It entitles you to 40MB’ worth of uploads per month. A premium account ($5 monthly or $45 annually) raises the cap to 500MB and affords “priority access to image recognition servers” (whatever that means), stronger security, and premium-level support.

If you missed the introduction-to-Evernote video the first eight or ten times we posted it, here’s one more chance to check it out.
