Ever wonder what it’s like to work at Microsoft? Bank of America? General Motors? Glassdoor provides ratings, reviews, and salaries for hundreds of companies, as supplied by people who have actually worked for them.

Although you can peruse a handful of company ratings and salaries, to take full advantage of the site you need to register and rate your own employer (past or present). It’s completely anonymous, of course, so you don’t have to worry about reprisals. Of course, you do need to take the user-supplied information with a grain of salt, as the site is more likely to attract disgruntled employees than, um, gruntled ones.

Even so, Glassdoor offers a very revealing look at salaries and job satisfaction, and therefore could be a handy tool in your next job search. Registration is free. [via Download Squad]
