Last year, Google added IMAP capabilities to its beloved Gmail service, thus making a good thing significantly better. Not sure what all the fuss is about or why IMAP beats POP hands down? The Official Gmail Blog has a primer you should definitely read: Getting Gmail anywhere: IMAP versus POP.

I made the move to Gmail IMAP several months ago and haven’t looked back. Now, whether I access my e-mail on my PC, notebook, phone, iPod Touch, or any Web browser on any device, my account always stays in sync and up to date.

Like Gmail itself, the IMAP feature is free to use. All you do is route mail from your domain to your Gmail account, then configure any/all mail clients to fetch messages from that account. If you want to learn more, check out the blog post — then head to Gmail’s help center for info on enabling IMAP.
