iogear-gearjuice.jpgThere’s nothing more aggravating than a dead cell-phone battery, especially when you need to make a call. Iogear’s GearJuice offers emergency power for phones and other devices, courtesy of a single AA battery.

Basically a battery housing capped by a connector, the GearJuice is small and light enough to clip to a keychain, stow in a pocket, etc. It promises up to 15 minutes of talk time per battery and costs only $11.99 — quite a reasonable price, I think.

Now for the catch: The GearJuice has only a mini-USB connector, meaning it works only with devices that have mini-USB ports. Fortunately, that describes a large number of phones, including most BlackBerrys, the Motorola Q and RAZR, and various Windows Mobile smartphones. If you’ve got a compatible gizmo, this is a must-have gadget.
