corporatespy.jpgJust in case you thought big brother had gone on sabbatical, a shocking new report came out this week that highlights how unprivate your corporate email account is. According to an article in CNET about a new report by Proofpoint, more than 40% of large companies have hired folks to read through employee email accounts and more than a quarter of them fired an employee for violating email policies last year.

So stick to your off hours and your private accounts when you talk smack about work, and know that your company isn’t just patrolling your inbox; more than ten percent of the surveyed companies took disciplinary action against employees for improper of social networks, blogs and message boards as well.
