As I’ve mentioned several times on Business Hacks, one of the best ways to manage your online reputation is to create your own website; that way, when people google you, one of the first things they’ll come across is something that makes you look good—and you can control. I (finally) started working on my site, which just uses a tweaked Blogger template so I don’t have to deal with coding and I can update at my leisure. If you’re looking for something a bit nicer, consider borrowing some ideas from Smashing Magazine’s 50 favorite blog designs. It’ll cost you a little bit to get it coded, but it’s a great way to present yourself to the world. (Image courtesy of one of my favorite blogs designs, iamneato.)
