ie7pro.jpgInternet Explorer users, envy Firefox no more: IE7Pro is a free utility that adds a wealth of features and customization options to Internet Explorer 7.

For example, it can perform screen grabs of entire Web pages (not just what’s currently in view) and save the results in various formats (GIF, JPEG, etc.). It lets you perform browser functions using “mouse gestures” (meaning you hold down, say, the right button, then move the mouse in a given direction to perform a designated function).

IE7Pro also offers crash recovery, a spell checker, inline search (the search tool now works as you type), an ad blocker, tab history and management, and “Super Drag Drop”: You can open a link in a new tab just by dragging and dropping it anywhere. (Dragging and dropping selected text runs a search.) Power users can take advantage of plug-ins and Greasemonkey-like user scripts.

I’ve been a Firefox user (and fan) for years, but I’m surprised at how much more I’m liking Internet Explorer now that IE7Pro is installed. It adds a boatload of Firefox-like features in one fell swoop. Highly recommended.

Maybe, But I'll still stick with Firefox. IE has become sort of meh to me.

Sounds like mere catch-up. Also since IE is proprietary, it's still going to be far limited compared to Firefox. Far be it for me to hold back dedicated IE users from having more to use, though.

IE7 still takes twice as long to load as Firefox even with IE7Pro installed. Make it faster, then maybe I'll switch back.

Until there is something even close to an equivalent of Web Developer Toolbar, I'll stick with FF.

Well, this seems too bad for me, as I switched to Linux a while ago and I cannot use IE whatsoever. Sorry, I'll stick with the free (IE isn't compatible with Linux or Mac) versions that have been doing this WAY longer than IE. Firefox and Opera do this much better than IE.
