mozyhome-mac.jpgOnline backup service Mozy just unveiled a Mac version of its software, thus giving OS X users a great way to archive their data.

True to its name, MozyHome was designed with home users in mind — though it’s just as well-suited to home offices and small businesses. (A more corporate-minded version, MozyPro, will debut for Macs this summer.) The Mozy client makes it a snap to create backup sets and perform backups at scheduled times (daily, weekly, etc.). The Mozy service employs 448-bit Blowfish encryption for your files and 128-bit SSL encryption for the actual transfers — pretty robust security.

For a very reasonable $4.95 monthly, you get unlimited storage. However, you can also sign up for MozyHome Free, which offers 2GB of storage on their dime. I’ve used the Windows version of Mozy for over a year and have found it to be an excellent service. Now Mac users can get it on the action.
