jott-logo2.jpgRegular Business Hacks readers know of my fondness for Jott (”Duh, Rick, you plug it five times a day”), the phone-driven messaging service. And who can blame me? You can use Jott to send reminders to yourself, add events to your Google Calendar, and much more, all with nothing more than your cell phone and your voice. Best of all, Jott continues to be free.

Not sure how to get started? Lifehack.org has a thorough tutorial on getting things done with Jott, from sending yourself a message to sending an SMS to a group of people to posting a new entry to your blog. This is essential reading for anyone new to Jott or unsure how to make the most of the service. Trust me when I say once you use it a few times, you’ll wonder how you got along without it.
