Fastest Growing Languages on the Net?

Which language is the rising power on our series of tubes? Behind English, Our Pacific Rim protégés in China are barreling ahead in the online world. Despite a large block of IP addresses being censored by the ‘Great Firewall of China,’ Chinese web users now number 166 million — 15% of the world’s internet population. But in a country of 1.3 billion, no Great Wall can hold back such a quickly rising tide.

Behind China, the sultry romance languages seem to be all the online rage. Spanish and Portuguese have the greatest potential. Spanish-speaking internet users grew by over 300% between 2000-2007.
