Coffee Image Courtesy Library of CongressPer capita, American coffee drinkers consume three cups of coffee a day, so you can sleep well — or stay awake, rather — knowing that you’re not the only one with a caffeine fix.

Is it bad for your health? Most reports say no, and they all peg the ‘healthy’ intake anywhere from 4-5 cups a day (pregnant women should limit themselves to 2-3 cups). As long as you’re below the limits, most of the reports encourage coffee drinking. Coffee lovers are 80% less likely to develop Parkinsons and 25% less apt to develop colon cancer. Some of the latest Parkinsons drugs are actually being developed from a derivative of the same caffeine in your average cup o’Joe.

    Interesting Facts

I found the facts interesting, considering the average is approx. 4 cups per day & my intake is measured in "pots" (avg = 2 pots/day). Still, its something fun to post on the bulletin board to share with co-workers.

What kind of ridiculous question is this? It's just coffee -- not the voyeuristic "How many times do you have sex in a week" Kinsey survey...

RE: How Many Cups of Coffee is

I think 20 cups is almost just right. Then I switch to Jolt(tm) cola for a change of taste during the evening hours. (Yes, there is a commercial coffee maker in my cubicle, and EVERYONE gets headaches when I take a few days off of work). happy
